Okanya Daniel
Meet the Author: Project Wellness- Africa
My name’s Okanya Daniel. I live and study in Kenya’s capital Nairobi, known as the "Green City Under the Sun." I’m a high school student taking English and Swahili as my significant languages. I like networking with people, reading books, browsing, and going for long walks.
I’m passionate about matters concerning the environment and its conservation to improve the physical environmental conditions of living organisms, as drawn deeply from Geography, a discipline I have come to love. My ardor for environmentalism all began in elementary school. With my school in the CBD, where the movement of vehicles emitting smoke polluted the air rampantly, the need to plant trees arose. With this in mind, I set aside some money from my daily allowance to buy trees at the local nursery at the end of every week when I could. I plan to continue this initiative in high school, as my passion for environmentalism is strong and I like seeing the direct impact I make on my community.

Hello, my name is Araya Mathis and I am 16 years old, a current junior. I was born in Georgia. However, I currently live in Texas and I plan on staying in Texas for the long term. My favorite color is blue and I love animals. I also like reading books and writing (of course). It is going to take me a while on what I will do job-wise, but I know one thing for certain. I love helping people of different backgrounds which is why I joined this program. I would love to make the world a better place by helping people get resources they need!
